Kickflip‘s debut song = ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’… DAY6’s Young K participated in writing the lyrics for the included song

JYP Entertainment (hereafter JYP)‘s new boy group Kickflip has confirmed ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’ as their debut song.

Kickflip will make their official debut on January 20th with the release of their first mini album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ (Flip it, Kick it!). Ahead of this, JYP released the album tracklist image and track spoiler video on Kickflip’s official SNS channel at midnight on the 15th.

According to the tracklist image, Kickflip‘s first mini-album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ contains a total of six tracks, including the title song ‘Mama Said (What Are You Trying to Be?)’, as well as the pre-released tracks ‘Yeah Yeah’, ‘WARRIORS’, ‘Knock Knock’, ‘Like A Monster’, and ‘See You Tomorrow’.

First of all, member Amaru participated in writing the lyrics for the title song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’, while track 2 ‘Yeah Yeah’ has Amaru and Donghwa in the credits, and track 5 ‘Like A Monster’ has Kye Hoon, Amaru, and Minje in the credits. Additionally, track 3 ‘WARRIORS’ has JYP senior artist DAY6’s Young K in the credits, raising expectations.

The track videos, which preview some of the songs, raise expectations for the birth of a lively piece. The title song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to be?)’ with its upbeat sound and lyrics “Don‘t worry even if you can’t use chopsticks, I‘ll just eat well”, ‘Yeah, Yeah’ with its impressive unique expressions, ‘WARRIORS’ with its sing-along vibes, ‘Pop Knock’ with its addictive ‘Knock Knock’, the energetic ‘Like A Monster’, and ‘See You Tomorrow’ with its hopeful melody and lyrics, all the songs have captivated K-pop fans and raised curiosity about the full version. The playful smiles and friendly atmosphere of Gye-Hoon, Amaru, Dong-hwa, Joo-Wang, Min-Je, K-Ju, and Dong-Hyun in the video made them want to play it on repeat.

Meanwhile, Kickflip’s first mini album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ will be officially released on January 20th at 6 PM. On the same day, they will hold a debut show on Mnet M2 at 7 PM and a debut showcase at 9 PM.
