‘JYP‘s new male group’ KickFlip, debut song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’ music video teaser released

JYP Entertainment’s (hereafter JYP) new boy group KickFlip has released the music video teaser for their debut song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’,

KickFlip will make their official debut on the 20th with the release of their first mini album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’. Prior to this, JYP unveiled the music video teaser for the title song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’ for the first time on the official SNS channel at midnight on the 16th.

In the video, Gye-hoon, Amaru, Dong-hwa, Joo-wang, Min-je, K-ju, and Dong-hyun are seen enjoying Kickflip‘s free world when the adults are out of the house. They add to the fun of watching with their mischievous charm as they act freely without worrying about what others think, such as blowing a hamburger with a big swing or making a bird out of a tree in the garden. Here, honest and confident lyrics like “Sorry mom, I don’t’mind Even though I can‘t use chopsticks, don’t worry, I just eat well Because”, “What will I become?’ll figure out” add synergy, stimulating curiosity about the music video and debut song that the next-generation K-pop super rookie will present.

Their first mini-album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ contains a total of six tracks, starting with the title song ‘Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)’, as well as ‘Yeah Yeah’, ‘WARRIORS’, ‘Knock Knock’, ‘Like A Monster’, and ‘See you tomorrow’. In particular, Gye Hoon, Amaru, Donghwa, and Minje each participated in writing the lyrics for some of the songs, including the title song, showing their musical potential right from the debut album. In particular, track 3 ‘WARRIORS’ was supported by JYP senior artist DAY6‘s Young K, who wrote the lyrics exclusively.

The group name Kickflip was completed by borrowing from the difficult skateboarding technique of spinning the board 360 degrees with the tip of the foot, and conveys the bold determination of the next-generation K-pop super rookies to show new activities without being bound by existing ones. Their debut album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ will be officially released on Monday, January 20 at 6 PM.
