‘SKIZ‘s younger brother’ Kickflip, ‘Debut D-3’ Pre-orders Surpass 300,000

JYP Entertainment’s (hereafter JYP) new boy group Kickflip has released an additional music video teaser for their debut title song ‘Mama Said (What Are You Trying to Be?)’.

Kickflip will be taking their first steps into the music industry by releasing their first mini-album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’ on the 20th. Following the first teaser for the title song ‘Mama Said (What Are You Trying to Become?)’ music video on the 16th, JYP posted a second teaser on the 17th.

This teaser instantly captures your eyes and ears with its trendy visual beauty, cheerful rhythm, and energetic sound. In particular, Gye-hoon, Amaru, Dong-hwa, Joo-wang, Min-je, K-ju, and Dong-hyun showed off some restrained and relaxed performances. The video ends with the innocent appearance of the seven members calmly welcoming someone who entered their house after hastily cleaning up the messy room, stimulating curiosity about the story.

The first mini-album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’, which will announce the start of the group‘s journey, contains a total of six tracks, including the title track ‘Mama Said (What Are You Trying to Be?)’, ‘Yeah Yeah’, ‘WARRIORS’, ‘Knock Knock’, ‘Like A Monster’, and ‘See You Tomorrow’. The title track was Amaru, the b-side ‘Yeah Yeah’ was written by Amaru and Donghwa, and ‘Like A Monster’ was written by Gye-hoon, Amaru, and Min-je, showing off their musical potential. Here, top artists such as JYP’s senior artist DAY6 Young K, Jo Yoon-kyung, Danke, and Lee Hae-sol participated.

The group name ‘Kickflip’ refers to a high-difficulty technical term that involves spinning the board 360 degrees with the tip of the foot. As of the 15th, their debut album pre-orders have surpassed 300,000 copies, and as of the 16th, the group‘s official Instagram account has surpassed 400,000 followers, and TikTok has surpassed 630,000 followers. The music video for the track “Yeah, That’s Right” also surpassed 10 million views on YouTube in just two days after its release, garnering much attention from K-pop fans.

With three days left until their official debut, JYP‘s next-generation boy group Kickflip’s first mini-album “Flip it, Kick it!” and the title track “Mama Said (What are you trying to become?)” will be released on various music sites on Monday, January 20th at 6 PM.
