Instructor Park Sung-gyu appears… John Park gives an interpretation lecture on his new song ‘Bluff’
Singer John Park has appeared as an instructor.
On the 16th, John Park released the video ‘Interpreting John Park‘s New Song BLUFF with Instructor Park Sung-gyu T’ through his official YouTube channel.
In the video, John Park transformed into an instructor using his Korean name, Park Sung-gyu. He gave a lecture while interpreting the English lyrics of ‘BLUFF‘, the second pre-released track from his regular album released on the 9th.
First, John Park explained the meaning of the song’s title ‘BLUFF’ as “bluff mixed with bluff”, and started the lecture by dividing it into a total of four verses and an ending part. He increased the immersion into the song by interpreting each English sentence in detail.
While talking about the relationship between the male and female characters in the song, John Park wrote on the blackboard that the man is a caretaker and the woman is a playboy, and briefly summarized the entire story of the song by saying, “The timid man holds back and explodes, and the woman continues to go out and do other things.”
John Park also talked about the last lyrics about a man who has been hurt by her but cannot forget her yet, and made everyone laugh with his stinging yet cheerful advice, saying, “When you have friends who are in bad relationships or don’t study, you need to tell them to ‘pull themselves together.’”
John Park also said about the differences between the existing demo version and the released audio version, “It felt like the song ended too quickly. He mentioned, “I felt a little disappointed, but the gospel elements and chorus in the latter part, and the last few lines of the song were like bragging (BLUFF), but in fact, I think it added to the feeling of feeling relieved because I said everything I wanted to say.” He continued, when asked about the ending of the song, he said, “The Movie Was Open-Ended. So is this song.”
John Park concluded his lecture by saying, “Please leave your thoughts on the song I lectured about today, ’BLUFF, in the comments. This is homework for today‘s lecture.”
‘BLUFF’, released on the 9th, is a pre-released track for the regular album ‘PSST!’, which will be released on the 30th. John Park previously released his first pre-released song ‘VISTA (feat. Gaeko, THAMA)’, ‘NIGHTCRAWLER’ last summer, and appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Killing Voice’ to reveal the title song ‘Like a Dream’ and the unreleased track ‘STUTTER’ for the first time.
‘PSST!’ is John Park’s first full-length album in 11 years since ‘INNER CHILD’ in 2013. The second pre-released song ‘Bluff’ is one of the songs on the full-length album and a spoiler track that is the most John Park-like and that only John Park can present. The colorful arrangement and John Park‘s soulful voice come together to complete a gorgeous jazz pop track. It will be released at 6 PM on the 30th.
