On the 4th, Edaily reported, citing the legal community, that Yulhee had filed an application for mediation for a change in custody, alimony, and division of property at the Seoul Family Court.
News of the couple‘s divorce was first reported in December of last year. At the time, Choi Minhwan’s agency, FNC Entertainment, stated in an official statement, “Choi Minhwan and Yulhee decided to divorce after careful consideration and are in the process of divorce mediation. We agreed that Choi Min-hwan will have custody of the three children.”
Yulhee also added, “After thinking about it for a long time, we decided that the children should remain in the same space they have been living in so that they don’t experience as much psychological anxiety as possible and have their father raise them. I also try to spend time with the children often so that they don’t feel the absence of their mother.”
After the divorce, the two of them revealed their lives after the divorce through their own broadcasts.
Then on October 24, Yulhee caused a stir by revealing on her YouTube channel that her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan had visited adult entertainment establishments and providing evidence of the recordings. They also claimed that Choi Min-hwan sexually harassed her in front of his in-laws.
As public criticism continued, Choi Min-hwan‘s agency FNC Entertainment stated on the 25th, ”It is difficult for us to know the details of a person’s private life related to marital issues. However, Choi Min-hwan feels responsible for disappointing the public and viewers, and he plans to cease all media activities, including broadcasts with his children.“
Meanwhile, the police are investigating Choi Min-hwan on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment, etc. of Acts of Prostitution Mediation and the Act on the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (forced molestation by relative).
