Is this a ‘deja vu of victory’? ‘Taeyeon in November’ It looks like she will continue her successful formula this year. Taeyeon is back.
Girls‘ Generation’s Taeyeon has confirmed her solo debut this month. D-Day will be making a comeback on the 18th with her 6th personal mini album ‘Letter To Myself’.
What particularly catches the eye as it coincides with Taeyeon‘s solo return is the timing of her comeback, ‘November’, which has become like ‘the month of promise’.
Last year around the same time, Taeyeon released a song with a unique tempo that was steeped in the atmosphere of late fall and early winter, ‘To. After releasing ‘To. X’, she enjoyed a second heyday by ‘sweeping’ various music charts and becoming a long-term hit.
In light of these examples, the interest in Taeyeon’s new song ‘Letter To Myself’ within and outside of K-pop and the fandom is naturally focused on whether the queen of music will be able to recreate her dominance. In particular, this month, as Taeyeon declared her ‘participation’, K-pop is being called a ‘fierce’ with a rush of mega star comebacks.
Curiosity about the ‘killer’ new song itself that will make the sure-win formula of ‘Taeyeon in November’ possible has also reached its peak.
According to her agency SM Entertainment, Taeyeon‘s new song ‘Letter to Myself’ is a ‘pop rock’ genre song with an impressive guitar sound and a lyrical yet explosive melody. SM added, “‘Taeyeon’s singing’ that seems to pour out all her emotions and the expansive track creates a dramatic atmosphere, allowing you to feel rich yet delicate emotions.”
Including the title track, which can be guessed as ‘Taeyeon-style rock’, the new album will contain six new songs. Taeyeon‘s 6th solo mini-album ‘Letter to Myself’ will be released on the 18th.
