BTS V will be releasing a duet song with legendary pop artist Bing Crosby.
According to his agency Big Hit Music on the 7th, ‘White Christmas’ (with V of BTS)), which features the two‘s voices together, will be released simultaneously worldwide on December 6th at 2 PM.
V reinterpreted and sang parts of Bing Crosby’s famous song ‘White Christmas’, which was released in 1942 and is still loved worldwide to this day, in his own way. It is especially special because it is the first Bing Crosby duet song in 47 years since his collaboration with David Bowie in 1977.
This work began with V‘s long-standing respect for Bing Crosby. V has consistently expressed his affection for Bing Crosby, such as by uploading a cover video of his song “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” in 2022. In response, Bing Crosby‘s official channel said, “We think V will be a great jazz crooner. Like our BING.”
Bing Crosby, who was active as a singer and actor, is one of the greatest stars of the 20th century and is inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “White Christmas” is a carol that was a huge hit and has been covered by numerous top singers, including Michael Bublé, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. However, a duet with Bing Crosby has never been released, so this work is very meaningful.
Meanwhile, V revealed his capabilities as a solo musician through his first solo album ‘Layover’ (Layover) released in September of last year and the digital single ‘FRI(END)S’ released in March of this year. His attractive low-mid tones and soulful voice captivated the ears of many and received favorable reviews for the rediscovery of vocalist V.
