The band DAY6 is actively filling the four seasons of 2024 with music they created themselves.
● Spring after a hiatus
In the spring of March, DAY6 released their full album ‘Fourever’. Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, who returned to DAY6 after a hiatus, invited fans to a new chapter of DAY6 with the title song ‘Welcome to the Show’ and expressed their gratitude to fans who have waited. From April 12th to 14th, they held their solo concert ‘DAY6 CONCERT
’ at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in a 360-degree open format and presented a parade of famous songs. With a total of 3 sold-out concerts of 34,000 seats, they responded to the ‘DAY6 Boom’ of the full house cheering with warm music they created themselves. They also heated up the online and offline stages of the university festival. DAY6 gave thrills by singing loudly on a campus full of youthful passion and freedom, and the audience also put their worries and concerns aside for that moment and sang along to their hearts‘ content, filling their 2024 playlist with DAY6’s songs.
● Band DAY6, the hottest summer
Summer was filled with the passion of DAY6, the ‘band that sings of youth’. They attended several music festivals, which are considered the highlight for music fans, adding to the refreshing feeling in the hot weather. They became one with the audience who filled the venue with the music by showing the ‘music you can trust and listen to’ they created themselves with a high-quality live performance stage. DAY6‘s songs, filled with comfort, became a comma for everyone running toward their goals. At the ‘2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO All-Star Game’ concert in July, the group sang their representative songs ‘You Were Pretty’, ‘To Be A Page’, and ‘Welcome to the Show’, decorating the summer nights with cheering lyrics. During the broadcast of the Paris Olympics in July and August, ‘Welcome to the Show’ was frequently heard, decorating the journey of the athletes with the relief and joy of giving their all, as in the lyrics “I’ll give it my all”, and garnering much sympathy for ‘DAY6‘s story’.
● A Fall That Melted the Charts
In the fall of 2024, DAY6 reached a career high. The title song ‘Melt’ of the mini album ‘Band Aid’ released on September 2nd topped Melon Top 100 chart for the first time. In addition to recording a long-run at #1 on the Top 100 chart, it swept Melon’s daily and weekly charts, proving that, as Young K, who wrote the lyrics, said, ‘With a warm word, a hug, we can endure the cold world’, has reached many people. Furthermore, the main character who ended ‘Melt’‘s #1 march was DAY6’s ‘HAPPY’. With the line “I want to smile every day. I want to be worry-free. Can someone please give me the answer?”, ‘HAPPY’ delivered an earnest cry for everyone‘s happiness. After its release in March, ‘HAPPY’ climbed the charts by word of mouth and took over the #1 baton, topping Melon’s monthly chart in September. Melon Top 100 chart is still continuing its momentum with many songs such as ‘HAPPY’, ‘Welcome to the Show’, ‘Become a page’, ‘Melt’, as well as ‘It was pretty’, ‘Congratulations’ which are climbing the charts.
● Winter that delivers a rich gift of music
At the beginning of winter, Sungjin‘s first solo album took place. Sungjin marked the end of his DAY6 solo debut by releasing his first full-length album ‘30’ on November 5. The album, which contains a total of 10 songs about his experiences up until the age of 30, is infused with sincerity as he personally worked on all the songs. In particular, the title song ‘Check Pattern’ (Check Pattern) draws sympathy for the ‘subtle excitement, warmth and everyday winter image’ that he felt, and expresses emotions that will warmly embrace the coming winter.
DAY6 is spending 2024 fulfillingly with their third world tour ‘DAY6 3RD WORLD TOUR ’ (Forever Young).
