The date of his return is also amazingly ‘7 days’. GOT7‘s Jinyoung was discharged. Jinyoung enlisted in the active-duty army in May of last year and served in the 11th Mobile Division of the Army.
News of his resumption of activities also spread quickly along with the end of his ‘Military Service’. He will join the preparations for a new album commemorating the group’s ‘10th debut anniversary’ as a member of GOT7, and his comeback project as an actor has also been decided early on. It is the popular Channel A drama ‘The Witch’, scheduled to air in the first half of next year.
On the 7th, the day of his discharge, Jinyoung left the main gate of the unit wearing his reserve soldier mark amidst the enthusiastic cheers of his global fandom. Jinyoung said, “I had a great time training with my (unit) mates, seniors, and juniors for a year and a half,” and expressed special gratitude to the so-called “Gomshin fans” who “silently waited” for him.
His fellow GOT7 members Yugyeom and BamBam were also present at the discharge ceremony that day, drawing attention.
Jinyoung also shared surprising news after his reunion with them. GOT7 is “preparing a new album as a complete group.” Jinyoung also promised other GOT7 members, including Youngjae and Yugyeom, who are about to serve in the military, “We will hurry and release a new album before our enlistments.”
Along with his military service, his acting career will also resume soon.
That will be the Channel A drama “The Witch,” scheduled to air in the first half of next year. ‘Moving’ Based on a webtoon of the same name by Kang Full, the film tells the life-threatening romance between a woman who is called a witch and is chased out of the village and a man who tries to save her from the ‘Law of Death’.
