Hiki Seoyi donates voice to audiobook to improve awareness of disabilities

Seoyi, a member of idol group Hiki and an ambassador for the Korea Employment Promotion Agency for the Disabled, donated her voice to the audiobook to improve awareness of disabilities, ‘Stories Only I Didn‘t Know 8’, produced by the Milal Welfare Foundation and the Korea Employment Promotion Agency for the Disabled.

‘Stories Only I Didn’t Know’ is a series of audiobooks produced from the winning stories of the ‘Disabled People in Everyday Life’ storytelling contest held since 2015. It contains stories directly experienced by people with disabilities, their families, and friends, and increases listeners‘ understanding and empathy for the disabled.

Hiki Seoyi read episodes from ‘I Didn’t Want to Work’, which won the grand prize in the 10th Employment Sector, as well as ‘Back Number 24’, ‘The Inconspicuous Child’, etc. Seo Yi vividly delivered the stories of those who conveyed challenges and hope with her signature bright and energetic voice.

Seo Yi said, “While reading the work, I was deeply moved by the stories filled with the challenges and hopes of the main characters. I think the works in this audiobook will be a source of strength to many people,” and added, “I hope that more people will sympathize with and cheer on the stories of our neighbors living with disabilities through ‘Stories Only I Didn’t Know.’”

Seo Yi’s ‘Stories Only I Didn’t Know 8’ can be enjoyed for free on Naver Audio Clip, Willa, Millie’s Library, Podbbang, and Odian starting on the 7th of this month.

In addition, the Milal Welfare Foundation will also present the ‘Stories Only I Didn’t Know’ series as an audiobook starting this year. Seo Yi’s reading can be found on the YouTube channel ‘Stories Only I Didn’t Know.’ The videos will be released one piece every Thursday, starting with ‘Back Number 27’ on November 7, for a total of three pieces.
