The group Baby Monster has entered the main chart of Billboard in the United States with their first full-length album.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on SNS on the 11th (local time), Baby Monster‘s first full-length album [DRIP] entered the Billboard 200 at 149th place. This is the first time since their debut that they have entered the Billboard 200, which is considered one of the two main charts of Billboard along with the Hot 100.
The Billboard 200 is an indicator that can be used to gauge the influence of a local fandom in the United States and the global music market. Considering that Baby Monster is a rookie group that has not even debuted for 8 months, this is a very unusual achievement.
Baby Monster’s global popularity storm was predicted long ago. Billboard in the United States selected Baby Monster as the most promising K-pop rookie of 2024, saying, “They finished the year off great with their first full-length album filled with attractive songs,” and predicted good results in the future.
In fact, Baby Monster is standing out not only on Billboard but also on various global charts. This album swept the iTunes album charts in 14 regions and settled at number 2 on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart. It also topped the real-time chart of Line Music‘s Top 100 Albums, Japan’s largest streaming site.
They are also steadily rising on Spotify, the world‘s largest music streaming platform. One of the double title tracks, ‘DRIP’, continued its popularity by charting on the Spotify Daily Top Song Global Chart on the 8th, and renewed its own highest ranking (109th) on the same day.
Baby Monster has recently been opening the door to full-scale [DRIP] activities with music shows and entertainment shows, and is also gradually rising in the rankings on major domestic music charts. They are also preparing for their first world tour next year.
