YG Entertainment has released a documentary about its own producing system.
On the 17th, a video titled ‘Baby Monster Song Camp Documentary’ was released on YG Entertainment‘s official YouTube account. The documentary, which is approximately 51 minutes long, introduces the ‘Song Camp’ system that YG Entertainment has been running for a long time.
‘Song Camp’ is a music production method that invites top foreign composers to Korea, shares ideas with a powerful internal producer team with a vision called ‘YG DNA’, and works together to create the best result.
Global composers who have continued to collaborate with YG explained, “The advantage of YG Song Camp is that you get to work with artists as well as producers.” In fact, they talked directly with the members at the recording site and conveyed direction suited to each vocalist, which allowed them to confirm meaningful synergy.
It was also a great help to be able to communicate closely with overseas experts in an environment where systematic work was possible. While these people, each with their own style and skills, gathered together with the one goal of ‘the best music’ and interacted, they naturally gained new inspiration and stimulation.
The digital single ‘Forever’ by the new girl group Baby Monster also came from this process of free communication. It is said that BLVSH, who participated in the song, captured the melody that she hummed on the spot and started working on it, and YG’s representative producer team CHOICE joined forces to maximize Baby Monster‘s unique energy.
Everyone’s journey to build a high-quality musical world is still ongoing. CHOICE37 said about Baby Monster‘s first full-length album ‘DRIP’, “While conducting this song camp, we worked hard to create the best songs for Baby Monster” and “I hope you all enjoy the songs included in the album.”
Meanwhile, Baby Monster released their first full-length album ‘DRIP’ on the 1st and is receiving a hot response from music fans around the world. This album successfully entered the US Billboard main chart, ‘Billboard 200’, at 149th place, and the title song ‘Drip’ broke their own highest ranking by entering 16th and 30th place on the Global (Billboard Global Excl. US) and Billboard Global 200, respectively.
