When asked how she attempted to approach the character of ‘Mi-ju’, who harbors a hidden desire, she said, “I tend to project a lot of myself into characters. In the end, any character comes through me, so in the case of ‘Mi-ju, I tried to overlap with myself as much as possible. I think of things that I have that are similar to ‘Mi-ju, and I add things that ‘Mi-ju’ has. I don’t try to clearly separate the character from myself,“ she said, showing her sincerity about acting as she explained her method for expressing ‘Mi-ju.
She also mentioned that director Kim Dae-woo, who she first worked with in the movie ‘Hidden Face, said that she was an ”actor who was confident in herself.“ Park Ji-hyun said, ”When I was a rookie, I was vaguely afraid of auditions and such, but I just thought about how I could look good. However, I never thought about creating good synergy,“ and ”At some point, I started to encourage myself with the mindset of, ‘Watch carefully, I’m going to show you my acting from now on. This is my performance.‘ That’s why I think the director must have seen confidence in me,“ she confessed.
Park Ji-hyun is meeting the audience with the movie ‘Hidden Face’, which was released on the 20th. More of her pictorials and interviews can be found in the November issue of ‘W Korea’ and on the website.
