Fashion magazine Singles has released a fashion pictorial of actor Kang Hoon, who received much love for his role as ‘Kang Joo-yeon’ in the drama ‘To My Harry’.
In this pictorial, Kang Hoon showed off a free-spirited and unique look, breaking away from his usual soft and clear image. Regarding his thoughts on the pictorial shoot, Kang Hoon said, “I saw a new side of myself. While looking at the pictures of me wearing various outfits, I thought, ‘I have this side of me too.’ That‘s why I saved a lot of my current appearance on my phone,“ he said.
Kang Hoon, who received a lot of love for his role as ‘Kang Joo Yeon’ in the recently concluded drama ‘To My Harry’, said, ”Before the show aired, I had shown my real personality through entertainment programs, so I was worried whether I would be able to express a character with a prickly personality, but after the show aired, the character ‘Kang Joo Yeon’ received a lot more love than I thought, and I feel so grateful. When I walk down the street, a lot more people recognize me than before,“ he said, expressing his gratitude.
Regarding ‘Kang Joo Yeon’’s charm, Kang Hoon said, ”I think Kang Joo Yeon‘s charm is relative. ‘Jung Hyun Oh’ is a kind man to everyone, but ’Joo Eun Ho’ didn’t like that. In that state of deficiency, I think I might have been drawn to ‘Kang Joo Yeon’, who was not kind to others but was kind to her own people. And she showed her honest side, crying, laughing, and changing in front of ‘Joo Hye Ri’. I think I liked that pure-hearted image,“ he said, explaining Kang Joo Yeon‘s charm.
Also, when asked if there was a memorable romantic line from ‘Kang Joo Yeon’ that became a hot topic, Kang Hoon said, ”The line, ’Hyeri didn‘t like being called by her last name...’ comes to mind. As for one word, I think of ‘you’. There‘s a way I sometimes speak informally. I put a lot of effort into expressing that informality,“ he confessed.
Kang Hoon said that the work ‘To My Harry’ holds great meaning to him. He said, “I dreamed of becoming an actor after being a basketball player, and I thought I could do various roles while doing ‘Red Sleeves’. There were times when the timing wasn’t right, but now that I’ve met ‘To My Harry’ and am living as ‘Kang Joo-yeon’, I feel that acting is fun and that acting makes me happy. I gained the strength to continue acting, and I met many good people. It’s a work that gave me the opportunity to take a ‘leap forward’ in my life, so it’s very meaningful to me,” expressing his deep affection for the work.
Kang Hoon’s pictorial can be found in the January issue of Singles.
