Lee Seung-yoon “I feel like I‘ve finally reached my destination as a musician” [Photoshoot]
Singer-songwriter Lee Seung-yoon met with Arena Homme Plus. In this pictorial, you can see Lee Seung-yoon spending a leisurely winter morning, rather than an artist on a powerful stage. He expressed images from everyday life with a very different, languid atmosphere.
In the interview that followed, Lee Seung-yoon looked back on last year and talked about his third full-length album ‘Yeokseong’, released in October. He said that this album ‘contains the determination to ‘go against what cannot be reversed’. He also said, “This album is an album where I feel like I’ve finally reached my destination as a musician”.
When asked if it could be considered Lee Seung-yoon‘s masterpiece, he said that it’s an album that‘s close to the original, “Rather than in that sense, it’s an album that‘s close to the original that I wanted to make when I first started music. He confessed, “It feels like, ‘I finally made it.’”
When asked about the emotions that drive his work, Seungyoon Lee said that his motivation is negative, but he hopes it will become positive. He confessed, “I think my motivation is negative. I start from negativity while hoping for it to become positive. I don’t want to just spew negative emotions into the world. While refining and cherishing those emotions, I want to talk about, ‘But what kind of positivity do we want to hold on to, and what kind of negativity can we embrace?’”
When asked to wrap up the interview and what kind of artist he wants to be remembered as, Seungyoon Lee said that he is grateful that people remember him. He said, “I’m grateful that you just remember me. I think it would be nice if you remembered me the way you want to remember me. “What I set is meaningless, and I want to be remembered for the meaning I was given,” he said.
