Actress Park Ji-hyun revealed her honest thoughts about the modifier ‘Nation‘s Sister-in-law’.

On the afternoon of the 6th, Park Ji-hyun met with Donga.com for an interview for the movie ‘A Fairy Tale But It’s Free (hereafter referred to as Fairy Tale)’ at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and talked about the movie.

On this day, regarding her first attempt at a comedy genre, Park Ji-hyun said, “When my name became known for the character of ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family’, I never imagined that I would receive a comedy script. I had a thirst for the comedy genre, and I thought, ‘What would the director think?’ ... And he said that he wanted to bring out a side of me that I haven‘t shown in my roles so far. It seemed like he knew exactly what I was thinking, so I was very grateful. That’s why I thought it would be good if we worked together to make this. Rather, I was excited because I thought I could show contrasting images. Since it was my first time doing a comedy, I thought about what I would do if I didn‘t do it well, but I didn’t feel any pressure.“

Park Ji-hyun said about her rise to the position of ‘Nation‘s Sister-in-Law’ for her role as Mo Hyun-min in ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family’, as she mentioned, ”I take it as a compliment. As an actor, I don’t think it‘s easy to be remembered as a character in a drama. I think it’s a great compliment to hear that I looked like my role in that drama with this role. However, ‘Sister-in-Law’ seems special. “I don‘t know if there’s another sister-in-law who would call me ‘the nation’s first love‘ or ’the nation‘s little sister’, but I think it‘ll be an unforgettable nickname,” she explained.

Meanwhile, ’A Fairy Tale But It‘s Free’, which will be released on the 8th, is a comedy film about Danbi, who dreams of being a fairy tale writer but is actually a public servant in charge of cracking down on pornography, who has no choice but to write an R-rated web novel and unexpectedly discovers a sacred talent for writing.

Park Ji-hyun plays Danbi, who accidentally writes an R-rated web novel in ‘A Fairy Tale But It’s Free‘, challenging the comedy genre for the first time in her life. At first, she looks down on R-rated web novels, but gradually discovers the sacred talent hidden within her.
