‘The Lighting Store’ Kim Sun-hwa expressed her gratitude to director Kim Hee-won for introducing her to the work.
Actress Kim Sun-hwa, who appeared in the Disney+ series ‘The Lighting Store’, recently met with Donga.com for an interview and talked about the work.
On this day, Kim Sun-hwa said about the enthusiastic response since the release of ‘The Lighting Store’, “I‘m so, so grateful. This is a work that I’m so grateful for. It‘s a special work that I will never forget,” and added, “It’s a character that you don‘t meet often, so I think it will stay with me forever.”
She also said, “I had the special experience of special effects, and there was a lot of CG, so I was curious to see how it would turn out, and I watched it with interest. “I received a lot more help from the staff and people I worked with than in other works,” she added.
Kim Sun-hwa, who plays a character who leaves a strong impression on viewers with her unique gait in the drama, explained the process of preparing for the character, saying, “I received help from a friend who does choreography. Choreographer Choi In-sook is my friend, and I practiced (the gait) with her help. I got that confirmed by the director and created the gait, and I was able to do it all myself.”
Another thing that stood out in this production was the hairstyle, which was completely different from my usual appearance, drawing even more attention. Regarding this, Kim Sun-hwa said, “This is a production that I received a lot of help from the staff. The staff helped me with the special filming where my hair gradually went down. ‘The Lighting Store’ is a production that the staff worked on together. He said, ”I felt that this wasn’t a character that I completed on my own.“
He also expressed his gratitude by saying, ”I‘m grateful to the director and writer for giving me this kind of character.“
Meanwhile, ‘The Lighting Store’, which was first released on the 4th, depicts a story that unfolds when customers with suspicious secrets visit the ‘The Lighting Store’, the only place that lights up the end of a dark alley. It released four episodes on the 4th, and then released two episodes a week for two weeks, presenting all eight episodes.
It is the fifth work in writer Kang Full’s ‘Mystery Psychological Chill’ series and is based on the webtoon of the same name ‘The Lighting Store’, which has surpassed 150 million cumulative views.
Kim Sun-hwa plays the role of ‘Hye-won’, a character who wanders through dark alleyways wearing red shoes on a rainy night, leaving the most impactful presence in the drama.
