Actor Lee Byung-hun revealed that his first son is a fan of ‘Squid Game’, along with the birth of his second daughter.

Lee Byung-hun recently had an interview with Donga.com about the Netflix series ‘Squid Game Season 2’ (hereafter ‘Squid Game 2’) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and talked about the work.

On this day, Lee Byung-hun mentioned the fact that he recently gave birth to his second daughter and said, “When Min-jeong looks at the child, she talks so much that it makes me think she‘s a storyteller. It’s always different. I wonder how she can come up with such words. There are two things I say to my child. I call her name and say, ‘Daddy, try it.’. My wife says she‘s sick of it. I can’t think of anything else to say. There‘s nothing that creates stories like a teacher teaching children,“ he said.

As ’Squid Game‘ became very popular among students, especially elementary school students, Lee Byung-hun’s eldest son must have naturally found out that his father appeared in ‘Squid Game’. Lee Byung-hun said, ”I‘m going crazy because of that question these days. Since I can’t see him, I ask him questions from my older brothers at school or only watch certain scenes on YouTube and ask those questions. Sometimes, there are things that a child shouldn‘t hear. One day, he said that he was taking away his spot as ’Frontman‘. So I asked, ’Where do you hear that?‘ He said, “But I can’t tell you a particularly refreshing story,” and when I asked if I could tell my son, he replied, “The moment I tell him, every elementary school student in the country will know,” making everyone laugh.

Lee Byung-hun also said, “I go to the basketball court or soccer field with my son, and his attitude is different before and after ‘Squid Game’ came out. It makes me wonder if he was this light-hearted. He hasn‘t fallen for me since ‘Squid Game’ came out. I wish he could be like that in regular times. My son has never seen my movies. I took him there on purpose when there was a special exhibition in Florence last year. I wanted him to see at least one (of my movies). But ‘Gwanghae’ was not rated 19+. At that time, I held my dad’s hand instead of my mom‘s,” he said.

Lastly, Lee Byung-hun said about the meaning of ‘Squid Game 2’, “There is the meaning of the work, but it seems to be a phenomenon. I am also in that phenomenon. I am having new experiences. Even though I have experienced Hollywood and experienced it, this is a new experience like this. In that sense, I think it will be a work that passes as an important point in my long filmography.”

Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game 2’, released on December 26th of last year, is a story about Ki-hoon (played by Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game with a vow of revenge, and the fierce confrontation between the frontman (played by Lee Byung-hun) who greets him, and the real game that begins again.
