Five men who don‘t know where they’ll go have met.

Although this group of actors, UFC fighters, and fencing gold medalists seem to have nothing in common, they are confident that the synergy they will create will be “beyond imagination.”

Cha Tae-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, Kim Dong-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, and Oh Sang-wook will show off their somewhat unexpected charms on tvN‘s new entertainment program ‘Handsome Guys on Sunday’, which will first air on December 1.

‘Handsome Guys on Sunday’ is a variety entertainment program that seeks out representative culture, nature, places, and attractive people of South Korea, and is directed by PD Ryu Ho-jin, who directed ‘2 Days ’’Accidental Business’.

Led by ‘variety show veteran’ Cha Tae-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung and Kim Dong-hyun, and ‘variety show novices’ Shin Seung-ho and Oh Sang-wook, they are divided into the ‘Handsome Team’ and the ‘Guys Team’ in each episode to reveal ‘unique chemistry’.

PD Ryu said in a production presentation held online on the 28th ahead of the first broadcast, “As you can see from the title, we used the ‘appearance’ of the five members as the main criterion,“ and “Since it is a Sunday variety program, we tried to create a comfortable atmosphere in special situations. We also thought it would be good if each person had a different color. You will be able to see a new side of the cast that we haven’t seen before.”

‘Eldest brother’ Cha Tae-hyun has been with PD Ryu for over 10 years, starting in 2013 on the KBS 2TV entertainment program ‘2 Days & 1 Night’.

Cha Tae-hyun said, “I just answered a call from PD Ryu Ho-jin and I ended up here. I shouldn‘t have answered the call.” “I prefer to do programs with new people. When I heard about the casting later, I thought the combination itself was so new that I decided to appear.”

He continued, “My relationship with PD Ryu is like ‘Na Young-seok and Cha Seung-won’ ‘Kim Tae-ho and Yoo Jae-suk’. However, our grades are a little lower than theirs,” he said, adding, “If they are S-class, we are A-class, and it’s a relationship where we want to be S-class,” explaining with a detailed metaphor.

Shin Seung-ho and fencing national team member Oh Sang-wook, who became known through dramas such as “Hwanhon” and “Pilot,” have less experience appearing on entertainment shows compared to the others.

Both of them said that after receiving a casting call, they thought about it for several days and “when they heard the member combination, they thought it was odd, so they decided to appear, thinking, ‘This might be fun?’”
