Actor Ryu Seung-beom talked about his feelings on acting with Bae Doo-na as a married couple.

On the morning of the 29th, Ryu Seung-beom met with Donga.com for an interview for the Coupang Play series ‘Family Plan’ at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and talked about the work.

On this day, Ryu Seung-beom said about Bae Doo-na, with whom he acted as a married couple in ‘Family Plan’, “She has a charm that comes from being an actress herself. The way she acts, and when you listen to her interpret the work, the human brain is fascinating. I felt that kind of insight, that kind of thing, was incredible. As an actor, I focus on acting with emotions. But Doo-na has insight into the work. That‘s why I feel very embarrassed when we talk on set. She draws the big picture as if looking down from another world. While gaining insight into the work and studying the character, I felt that she was ’on another level‘, and that’s why she was different,“ he said.



He added, ”I was so happy and grateful that my partner was Doo-na. I like actress Bae Doo-na personally. We didn‘t see each other often, but I had the chance to see her when we came and went. She was someone I respected and felt the charm of, such as the actor’s color and work. That‘s why it was always fun to meet her.“

Ryu Seung-beom also drew attention by saying about what he felt while acting with Bae Doo-na, ”I felt comfortable. Maybe it’s because I respect her, but I didn‘t hesitate to express my feelings while acting. She was someone I could trust without needing a filter. Because of that trust, I was able to talk comfortably.“

When asked about how his outfit was chosen as the worst at an awards ceremony in the past, but was later reevaluated, Ryu Seung-beom said, “I feel embarrassed when you mention fashion. I think it’s dangerous to follow trends. I shouldn’t do what others do. They say that if you follow trends, you’ll end up looking outdated. Just listen to that.”



He emphasized, “The real thing is to look deeper into what my color is and what suits me. There are people who want to get tips from me, but that’s all I can say. It’s about finding what suits you.”

Lastly, when asked about his plans for the future, Ryu Seung-beom said, “I only have abstract concepts. Nothing direct. I don’t think about plans that much. My abstract plans are that I want to be a good father, a slightly more pure person, and a clean life. I have to spend a lot of time with him because I want to be a good father. It’s the only thing I can do,” he said.

Meanwhile, ‘Family Plan’ is a story about a mother with a special ability to freely edit memories who joins forces with her family to bring hell to villains. Episodes 1 and 2 will be released on Friday, the 29th at 8 PM.

Ryu Seung-beom challenges his first father character in his life through ‘Family Plan’. He plays Baek Cheol-hee, a romantic who always puts Young-soo (played by Bae Doo-na) first, but who also shows intense action scenes in contrast to his romanticism.
