Im Ji-yeon faces the cruel tyranny of her ruthless landlady.
In the new JTBC weekend drama ‘Madam Ok‘s Tale’ (written by Park Ji-sook and directed by Jin Hyeok), which will be aired for the first time on the 30th, the reality of slave Gu-deok (played by Lim Ji-yeon) who was born human but cannot live like a human is expected to be heartbreaking.
According to the production team, slave Gu-deok in the drama is a servant who endures severe abuse in her brutal landlady’s house and endures each day. Although she was born to slave parents, she is intelligent and quick-witted, so she lives by trying to please the stupid and eccentric landlady in her own way.
However, she harbors a hope to one day escape from her annoying landlady and live by the sea with her father. Because of his lowly status, he is always ignored and looked down on, but his sad story of Guduk dreaming of a better life is drawing attention.
The photos released by the production team are shocking as they show Guduk‘s bloody and miserable appearance as if to mock his wish. Guduk, who makes a startled expression as if he’s been discovered, is soon rolling around on the cold dirt floor with a mat rolled up, which adds to the misery.
In addition, the sight of Guduk‘s face with clear traces of having been beaten and his eyes filled with anxiety makes the viewer empathize even more. Why did I wander through a dark mountain path without even a coat on a cold winter day with heavy snow?
‘Madam Ok’s Story’ will be first broadcast at 10:30 p.m. on the 30th.
