Vocal singer Kim Dong-gyu revealed that he suffered 10 billion won in damages.

On the 11th episode of season 3 of MBN‘s ‘Let’s Go’, which aired on the 30th of last month, Korea‘s first baritone vocalist Kim Dong-gyu appeared.

On this day, Kim Dong-gyu said, “I debuted at the ‘La Scala Teatro alla Scala’ at the age of 25,” and told the story of how he was the first Korean to enter the ‘La Scala Teatro alla Scala’, which is considered the dream stage for vocalists around the world, as well as an episode that happened in Italy.

He also confessed to an incident where he was scammed by an acquaintance. Kim Dong-gyu said, “He was a close acquaintance and I didn’t suspect anything. I really wanted to die in the past,” and added, “It‘s not that that person scammed me, but rather that the situation made me scam people because I failed in business. The amount of damage is around 10 billion won. I’m glad I kept the house I‘m living in now. At that time, I lost all my money,” he said.

Kim Dong-gyu said, “I was heartbroken, my heart was breaking, and I felt lost. Fortunately, I’ve overcome it now. Since then, if someone asks me to borrow money, I don’t just give it to them.”

Kim Dong-gyu also mentioned his marriage to his ex-wife. Kim Dong-gyu said, “I got married in Italy when I was 30,” and “We lived together for 7 years and sorted things out. I know my own problems. When we reach the limit of how considerate we can be to each other, it might be better to break up.”

Regarding his children, he said, “I have one. He’s 30 now. I didn’t see him when he was little.”

Kim Dong-gyu said, “Life doesn’t always fit together perfectly like cogwheels. It’s a blessing to live with one person your whole life. It means that we understood each other’s space to that extent and distanced ourselves from each other. Being distant doesn‘t mean being distant is a bad thing. I shared even my mental space with my ex-wife. We went to concert halls together, performed together, and were always together, so we had nothing more to talk about,” he said.
