Im Ji-yeon has decided to become the fake Ok Tae-young.
In the second episode of JTBC‘s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Lady Ok’s Tale’ (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyeok) that aired on the 1st, the fake Ok Tae-young (played by Im Ji-yeon) made a passionate pledge to live as a lady, not a slave Gu Deok, after the unjust death of her servant Baek-yi (played by Yoon Seo-ah), leaving a strong impression. The second episode of ‘Lady Ok‘s Tale’ recorded 7.2% in the metropolitan area and 6.8% nationwide. (Based on Nielsen Korea’s paid households)
On this day, the appearance of Gu Deok-yi, who lived as a lady in place of the deceased Ok Tae-young (played by Son Na-eun) according to the wishes of the grandmother of the Ok family, Lady Han (played by Kim Mi-sook), caught everyone‘s attention. Guduk immediately revealed that he was not Ok Tae-young, but said that he clearly remembered the bandits who killed the Ok family who were staying at the inn, and decided to remain as Ok Tae-young until they were caught.
However, Guduk played a big role in catching them by reporting in detail everything from the bandits’ base to their appearance, and even wrote poems to reply to the letters from the mothers of the association, which greatly impressed Lady Han. After catching the bandits, Lady Han personally put a jade ring on Guduk as he was about to leave home, and told him to never be caught by anyone and to remain Ok Tae-young for the rest of his life, and Guduk, wearing it, began to live as a daughter of the Ok family.
After hiding in the annex for two years, Song Seo-in (played by Chu Young-woo), who had been entangled with him during his slave days, appeared in front of Guduk again as a celestial electrician. After learning that she was an illegitimate child and running away from home, Song Seo-in, who had been living in a brothel where her biological mother lived, became an electrician using her artistic talent and changed her name to Cheon Seung-hwi, covering her face and finally living freely.
However, her feelings for Gu Deok-i remained the same. As she traveled around the country for the performance, she checked for Gu Deok-i’s life and death by looking for the geomancy records posted in each region, and the content of the book she wrote herself and the performance also contained the touching story of her and Gu Deok-i. The two people recognized each other immediately in the concert hall filled with a large audience and had a touching reunion.
However, unlike Cheon Seung-hwi, who was full of sorrow, the fake Ok Tae-young tried hard to hide her feelings and treated him calmly. In the fake Ok Tae-young, who had become a proper young lady, Cheon Seung-hwi caught a glimpse of himself, who had lived in hiding in a villa in the past, and told her to take the fake Ok Tae-young to the beach and leave with him in order to make Gu Deok-yi‘s dream come true.
Just as she was finally able to see the sea she had longed for for the first time in her life, the fake Ok Tae-young found the cold corpse of her servant Baek-i (played by Yoon Seo-ah) back at her home. It seemed like she had committed suicide, but there were more than a few suspicious things, including the fact that the back of her head was broken and her relationship with the nobleman Baek Do-gwang (played by Kim Sun-bin).
The fake Ok Tae-young, who recalled the days when she was treated worse than dogs and pigs simply because she was a slave, rejected Cheon Seung-hwi’s offer and surprised everyone by taking off her skirt in front of everyone in order to protect those precious to her. I wonder what will happen in her future as she decides to live the life of Ok Tae-young, not Gu Deok-i anymore.
