It is the true ‘son of Disney+’. Actor Ji Chang-wook, who led the Disney+ original dramas ‘The Worst Evil’ and ‘Gangnam Be-side’ last year and this year respectively to box office success, will meet global viewers for the third consecutive year with the new Disney+ drama ‘Piece of Cities’ next year.
‘Piece of Cities’, the title of the 2025 Korean original lineup, is an action drama about an ordinary man who is unjustly imprisoned for a heinous crime and sets out for revenge. The screenplay was written by Oh Sang-ho, the writer of the ‘Taxi Driver’ series, which ranked first in viewership ratings in its time slot and first in overall TV and OTT (online video service) buzz, raising expectations among K-drama fans.
Above all, the fact that Ji Chang-wook, who led all of the Disney+ dramas he led to box office success, plays the lead role in this drama is drawing attention. Ji Chang-wook plays Tae-joong, a man who is falsely accused and seeks revenge. He stands in opposition to Do Kyung-soo, who is challenging his first villain role as a sculptor named Yohan who manipulates evidence and designs the real culprit.

Ji Chang-wook, who has maintained a special relationship with Disney+, previously released ‘The Worst Evil’ last year, which received global acclaim for its solid storyline and atmosphere reminiscent of 90s Hong Kong film noir, and recently released its final episode of ‘Gangnam Be-side’.
‘Gangnam Be-side’ has consistently maintained the No. 1 spot in the TV show category in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, and has also demonstrated its potential by rising to the No. 2 spot among Disney+ TV shows worldwide on FlixPatrol, a global OTT service ranking site. This is the first time since ‘Moving’ last summer that a Korean Disney+ original drama has made it into the top 10 of this chart.
Ji Chang-wook, who plays a mysterious broker who takes over Gangnam, received favorable reviews for his rough and sharp image as well as his honest charm as he tries to protect the person he loves to the end, which contributed significantly to the popularity of the drama.
He even earned the nicknames ‘Disney+ Son’ or ‘Prince of Disney+’, expressing his deep gratitude and pledging, “I feel a burden that I have to present a better work than my previous work. I will work hard to present a better work.”
