Tving, Korea‘s leading OTT, is introducing a ‘short-form’ service. Tving plans to meet the segmented needs of customers by providing 1-minute short-form content within the platform.

Tving announced on the 5th that it is launching a vertical ‘short-form’ service optimized for mobile. The short-form service, which is being introduced for the first time, can be used by all users, whether free or paid, who have registered for Tving.

The ‘short-form’ service can be accessed by selecting the newly created ‘Shorts’ tab within the Tving mobile app, allowing you to use short-form content through a vertical player optimized for mobile. Its distinctive feature is that you can freely watch short-form and full-length dramas and entertainment shows within the OTT app.

It also provides functions to improve users’ viewing convenience. First, if you tap the ‘Watch Full-length’ button while watching short-form content, you can move to the main page of the content, and you can also use the ‘Save’ function. Also, based on the user‘s content consumption pattern, ’personalized recommendations‘ can be expected to provide a curation effect where users can experience the main content in advance and find their tastes while looking at short-form highlights or famous scenes.

We will also gradually provide functions that enable easier viewing and exploration, such as continuing series-type short-form content reconstructed by character or story of existing content on the same page, or classifying short-form content based on categories.

Moving is building its lineup with the goal of launching original short-form dramas and entertainment shows in 25 years. We also plan to increase high-quality, diverse, and original short-form content. Through this, Tving expects to quickly lead the short-form industry based on its unrivaled planning and production capabilities, and to seek a virtuous cycle and synergy in the content ecosystem by expanding collaboration with creators.
