Broadcaster Jang Do-yeon expressed a humble reaction to being called the ‘Korean Oprah Winfrey’, meaning she resembles famous American MC Oprah Winfrey.
At the online production conference for KBS 2TV‘s new entertainment program ‘Secret of a Celebrity Soldier’ held on the morning of the 5th, Jang Do-yeon said, “I had a lot of worries during the first shoot, but I think I can sleep soundly because I had fun filming while being considerate of each other with Lee Chan-won, (G)I-dle’s Miyeon, and Dr. Lee Nak-jun.“
She continued, “I can confidently say that the program is fun when we show it to viewers. I hope people will react by saying, ‘It‘s a shame if you don’t watch this program.”She said, “I‘ll be honest while recording and say that I don’t know if I don‘t know. Then I think the viewers will be able to watch it comfortably. I will emphasize honesty,” he said.
Co-MC Lee Chan-won praised her, saying, “Senior Lee Kyung-kyu once called Jang Do-yeon the “Korean Oprah Winfrey,” and I could see why she got that nickname during the first recording,” and Jang Do-yeon joked, “There are more Korean Oprah Winfreys than you think. I’m the 67th Korean Oprah Winfrey,” causing the set to burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, “The Secret of Celebrity Soldiers,” which will be aired for the first time on the 10th, is Korea’s first medical storytelling program that crosses world history, science, and humanities, and looks into the world of disease and medicine through the deaths of historical figures and celebrities.
