Lee Min-ki and Han Ji-hyun are one step closer to catching the culprit of a murder case from 7 years ago.
In the 10th episode of KBS2‘s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Face Me’ (directed by Jo Rok-hwan/written by Hwang Ye-jin) that aired on the 5th, the tense process of Cha Jung-woo (played by Lee Min-ki) and Lee Min-hyung (played by Han Ji-hyun) digging deeper into the murder of Jung-woo’s girlfriend Yoon Hye-jin (played by Ha-young) that occurred 7 years ago and chasing the culprit was depicted.
In the broadcast that day, Jung-woo, who is currently pointed out as a strong suspect, tried to regain his memories through forensic hypnosis, but was unable to remember the real culprit‘s face, which was disappointing. He then said to Min-hyung, “You have to meet the real culprit. The one who is refusing to remember is not me now, but me from 7 years ago,“ and headed to the police station office. Jung-woo asked the team leader to reinvestigate the case, handing over Hye-jin’s personal belongings, her cell phone.
The reinvestigation revealed that Jung-woo was not a suspect but a witness, and that the real culprit who murdered Hye-jin and the culprits of the Nam Gi-taek (Park Wan-kyu) and Nam Hyo-joo (Choi Jung-woon) cases were the same culprit. In addition, the key ring presumed to be the culprit‘s at the scene of Ki-taek’s fall was discovered to be a souvenir from his medical volunteer work at the prison, narrowing down the net of suspects.
At first, they started investigating the inmates as possible culprits, but Min-hyung became suspicious of the medical staff, so they also questioned Jung-woo‘s acquaintances who had gone to the prison for medical volunteer work, Han Woo-jin (Lee Yi-kyung), Kim Seok-hoon (Jun Bae-soo), and Yoon Seo-hee (Yang So-min). Min-hyung and Seo Kang-ho (played by Lee Seung-woo) doggedly dug into them, and even though they seemed to be interrogating them in a calm manner, they stimulated the viewers’ deductive powers to the fullest by making them guess that there was something hidden.
Min-hyung focused on the person who hoped that Jung-woo‘s memories would not return, and began to suspect Woo-jin while looking back on his actions so far. Min-hyung also confirmed that Woo-jin had followed him when Hyo-joo’s incident occurred, and Hyo-joo also remembered the culprit‘s face, making it seem like the culprit’s identity was becoming certain.
At the end of the broadcast, a chase scene unfolded between Hyo-joo and Woo-jin as they left the hospital room, and the two of them, who had come down to the underground parking lot, engaged in a suffocating standoff with a warehouse door between them. Also, Jung-woo, who discovered Woo-jin following Hyo-joo, remembered the real culprit‘s face for a split second, making his stomach churn.
Like this, in the 10th episode, the truth about the incident from 7 years ago was gradually revealed, and the outline of the truth that had not been seen before began to emerge. Whether the identity of the culprit will be revealed one by one in the remaining 2 episodes is even more anticipated for the next episode.
The 11th and final episode of ‘Face Me’ will air on the 11th and 12th at 9:50 PM.
