On the morning of the 9th, the production conference for Season 2 of the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ was held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Art Hall in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Lee Seo-hwan, and Jo Yu-ri attended the event.

Following Season 1, Lee Byung-hun and Wi Ha-joon played the roles of ‘Frontman’ and ‘Jun-ho’ as brothers in ‘Squid Game’. First, Lee Byung-hun said, “If in season 1 he existed as a functional role that oversaw and progressed the game, then in season 2, the Frontman‘s role as a warrior is somewhat explained. It reveals why he participated in this game and what his thoughts are,” and explained, “He is a character who has completely different thoughts about the existence of humans than Ki-hoon. From the Frontman’s perspective, he thinks Ki-hoon is making wrong decisions and takes action to make him realize it.”

Wi Ha-joon said, “Thankfully, Jun-ho survived and I am so honored to be able to join him in season 2. In season 1, Jun-ho witnessed a miserable situation, learned that his brother was the Frontman, and came back from the brink of death.” “In season 2, as a detective and a member of the family, he desperately runs out to find his brother and stop this game. I hope you look forward to Jun-ho‘s coolness and charisma that are shown in the process,” he said.

Season 2 of ’Squid Game‘ is a story about the fierce confrontation between ’Ki-hoon‘ (Lee Jung-jae), who vows revenge and returns to participate in the game, and the ’Frontman‘ (Lee Byung-hun) who greets him, as well as the real game that begins again. It is scheduled to be released on Netflix on the 26th.
