Director Hwang Dong-hyuk “My teeth aren’t in good condition, I need to pull two more” (Squid Game Season 2)

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk confessed about the condition of his teeth.

On the morning of the 9th, the production conference for the 2nd season of the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ was held at the Art Hall of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee Seo-hwan, and Jo Yu-ri attended the event.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who lost six teeth due to extreme stress during Season 1, revealed that he also worked on Season 2 while taking toothache medication.

When asked about his dental health that day, Director Hwang said, “My teeth are not in good condition. I thought I had enough teeth removed, but I have a new toothache. I think I need to have them removed, but I‘m scared to go to the dentist.” He continued, “If I go to the dentist soon, I think I’ll have to have two more teeth removed and get implants. It makes me very sad, personally.” He continued, “I had a lot of pressure to do well at the box office, but as I kept going, they hardened and turned into stone. He also confessed, ”I feel like the burden is coming back to me today.“

Season 2 of ‘Squid Game’ is a story about the fierce confrontation between ‘Ki-hoon’ (Lee Jung-jae), who vows revenge and returns to participate in the game, and the ‘Frontman’ (Lee Byung-hun) who greets him, and the real game starting again. It is scheduled to be released on Netflix on the 26th.
