Go Soo and Lee Hak Joo finally met.
In episode 7 of tvN‘s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Parole Judge Lee Han Shin’ (directed by Yoon Sang Ho, written by Park Chi Hyung), which aired on the 9th, Lee Han Shin (played by Go Soo) and Myeong Seop (played by Lee Hak Joo) finally came face to face, raising the tension of the drama to its peak.
On this day, Lee Han Shin’s past related to Myeong Seop was portrayed in detail. When Cheon Soo-beom (played by Cho Seung-yeon), who had been like a father to him during his days as a prison guard, was falsely accused of blocking Jimyeong-seop‘s parole and arrested, Jimyeong-seop shamelessly confronted Han-shin, who was furious, by mentioning the Chinese idiom ‘Dangranggeocheol’ (a mantis raises its front paw to stop a cart) and saying, “If you act without knowing the subject and act fearlessly, you’ll die.” After this, Han-shin submitted several statements stating that Jimyeong-seop‘s parole was not justified, but Jimyeong-seop was unanimously released on parole. Han-shin Lee and Cheon Soo-beom were mantises, and Jimyeong-seop was the cart.” Another mantis trying to stop Jimyeong-seop, Seo-yoon Ahn, began an investigation after becoming convinced that Jeong-hak Choi’s (played by Min-woo Nam) death was a murder. Having strong doubts about Jeong-hak Choi‘s death just three days after Jimyeong-seop entered Korea, he went to the scene of Jimyeong-seop’s inauguration ceremony as executive director.
In front of the reporters at the inauguration ceremony, Ahn Seo-yoon raised suspicions, saying, “Drug supplier Choi Jeong-hak died as soon as Myeong-seop Ji entered.” Myeong-seop pretended not to hear and ignored them, but the reporters wrote down Ahn Seo-yoon‘s words. An enraged Myeong-seop Ji instructed Chief of Staff Son Eung-jun (played by Kim Young-woong) to sue Ahn Seo-yoon for defamation and spreading false information.
The commotion at the inauguration ceremony was covered in the news, and Ji Dong-man (played by Song Young-chang) called Myeong-seop Ji and questioned him. Ji Dong-man even hit Myeong-seop Ji. He strongly threatened his son, saying, “If you harm Ojeong Group, I’ll get you fired too.”
Ji Myeong-seop did not give in to this. After receiving information from Seo Dong-hoon (played by Kim Min-jae) that Lee Han-shin was the one who blocked Ji Dong-man‘s parole, he went to meet Lee Han-shin in person. It was a visit that even Lee Han-shin did not expect. Seeing Lee Han-shin bewildered at the sight of him, Jimyeong-seop shamelessly said, “It’s been a while, prisoner Lee Han-shin,” and offered to shake his hand.
Lee Han-shin and Ahn Seo-yoon, the two locusts who could not stop the rolling cart Jimyeong-seop in the past, met Jimyeong-seop again. Lee Han-shin, who had been a prison guard, had become a lawyer and parole officer, and Ahn Seo-yoon, who had suspected that Jimyeong-seop killed her younger sister Ahn Da-yoon (played by Kim Ye-na) but had no evidence, found a new clue in the Choi Jeong-hak case. Moreover, the two had become allies. It is noteworthy whether Lee Han-shin and Ahn Seo-yoon will be able to stop Ji Myeong-seop this time.
Meanwhile, Lee Han-shin also conducted a parole eligibility hearing for Heo Eun-ji (played by Hwang Se-in), a single mother in prison who gave birth and raised a baby in prison. Heo Eun-ji applied for parole to raise her daughter, who was 18 months old and had to be released from prison. Heo Eun-ji, who was sent to prison after delivering 10 million won in voice phishing money without knowing that she was committing a crime. He received a 3-year sentence because he could not hire a lawyer, so his sentence execution rate was low and he did not have a guardian who could reach an agreement with the victim on his behalf, which made it difficult for him to be paroled in many ways.
Lee Han-shin advised Heo Eun-ji to get a Korean cuisine chef‘s license so that she could continue to work after her release. He also gave Choi Hwa-ran a building and a special condition that she become Heo Eun-ji’s guardian, giving her a strong backing. Choi Hwa-ran acted as if she had no choice but to take on the role of guardian, but she showed off her unexpected charm by genuinely helping Heo Eun-ji after seeing her past self in her.
