Actor Oh Dae-hwan solidified his presence in ‘Madame Ok‘s Tale’ with his cheerful charm.

JTBC’s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Madame Ok‘s Tale’ (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyeok and Choi Bo-yoon, produced by SLL, Corpus Korea) is a drama that depicts the fierce survival fraud story of Ok Tae-young (played by Im Ji-yeon), a woman whose name, identity, and husband were all fake, and Cheon Seung-hwi (played by Chu Young-woo), a detective who risked his life to protect her. Oh Dae-hwan is continuing his passionate acting by playing the role of ‘Axe’ in the drama, and is continuing his hot streak of crossing genres.

In the third episode of ‘Lady Ok’s Tale’ that aired on the 8th, the story of Ok Tae-young, who cleared Baek-yi‘s (played by Yoon Seo-ah) grievances and protected his family, was depicted, and Oh Dae-hwan added fun and energy to the drama by playing the role of ‘Axe’ itself.

Maxim (played by Kim Jae-hwa), who was heartbroken by Baek’s sudden death, visited Baek Byeol-gam‘s house and cried, saying that Baek Do-gwang (played by Kim Sun-bin) was responsible for Baek’s death. Song‘s wife (played by Jeon Ik-ryeong) ordered Maxim to be beaten up, saying that he was a slave but was insulting the nobles, and Ok Tae-young, who appeared at that moment, reported the Baek family, suspected of being behind Baek’s death, to murder. However, Baek Byeol-gam‘s family hired an outside branch to report Mak-shim in a counter-tactic, and Ok Tae-young, who had been protecting Mak-shim, was also in danger of being punished, but in the end, Baek Do-gwang, who could not give up his feelings for Baek-yi, falsely confessed that he killed her, and both Ok Tae-young and Mak-shim were released safely.

After that, when the royal decree was issued that all children of noble families must get married due to the continuing drought, the noble families of Cheongsu-hyeon became busy looking for marriage partners for their children, and the county magistrate Seong Gyu-jin (played by Seong Dong-il) surprised everyone by not only recommending Ok Tae-young as an outside branch but also sending a marriage proposal to make her the wife of Seong Yoon-gyeom (played by Chu Young-woo).

Among them, Oh Dae-hwan perfectly embodies the character of ‘Axe’, a loyal yet playful character who protects Ok Tae-young and Mak-shim, and stands out by perfectly digesting every scene. Oh Dae-hwan, who has always immersed himself fully in every drama and shown great chemistry with the characters, had high expectations for him in this production as well. He lived up to the viewers’ expectations and portrayed Dok2 with delicate acting, from his expressions to his eyes and chemistry.

He added to the fun by smiling and honestly delivering affectionate words despite Maxim‘s merciless fact bombardment, and he swept all eyes with his humane charm along with the tiki-taka of visiting Maxim in prison, worrying and missing him, but also bickering nonstop. Also, when Ok Tae-young received a proposal, the scene where he was happy as if it was his own business and hugged the person next to him and jumped up and down brought laughter to the viewers with his extreme cheerfulness.

Oh Dae-hwan’s lively acting, added to his strong dialect, was enough to add energy to the play, and this was a clear contrast to the fierce charisma he displayed in his previous work, ‘Mr. Plankton’, with his friendly and savory charm, and he led the viewers to rave reviews with his passionate acting that transcended genres.

Attention is focused on Oh Dae-hwan‘s performance, which blends well into any work and enriches the play.

Meanwhile, JTBC’s weekend drama ‘Madame Ok‘s Tale’, starring Oh Dae-hwan, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
