The off-Earth flight of Oh Jung-se, a man who has everything, begins.

In tvN‘s new Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Ask the Stars’ (written by Seo Sook-hyang and directed by Park Shin-woo), Oh Jung-se plays the role of Kang Kang-soo, a second-generation financial tycoon and space scientist, and will add heavy tension to the extraterrestrial life.

In the drama, Kang Kang-soo is a space scientist who is staying in a space station and researching fruit fly breeding. As the second son of a financial tycoon who has been in control of everything since birth, he is considered the next leader with a fresh sense, quick thinking, and meticulousness. Breaking everyone’s expectations that he would take over the family business, he suddenly entered an engineering college and is enjoying an escape from gravity, making people curious about why Kang Kang-soo went to space.

In the photos released by the production team on the 11th, Kang Kang-soo is roaming around the space station as if it were his home. The space scientist Kang Kang-soo is included. Oh Jung-se described the character as “a person who thought, ‘Can I do it?’ and then decided, ‘Let’s meet him first.’”

Oh Jung-se said, “I’ve worked with director Park Shin-woo before, and I thought he was someone who had a lot to learn from him and was delicate and tenacious. That’s why I thought I could enjoy any project, and the scenario was fresh and fun, so there was no reason not to do it.”

In particular, since this project is the first space office project in Korea, he said, “I thought hard about how to express weightlessness in a space station, emotions that come from a limited space, and the story of human life,” and shared his acting points. It is known that real astronauts exercise every day to prevent their muscles and bones from becoming weak in weightlessness. Oh Jung-se said, “I thought Kang Kang-soo was a healthy person. That’s why I tried to maintain a healthy body, even though I don’t have a muscular body.”


Oh Jung-se said, “It‘s a courageous drama that tried many things. It’s a drama that tries to pursue new freshness in everything, including the story of people living in a space station, writing, directing, art, CG, and acting, so please look forward to it.”

‘Ask the Stars’ is a work that depicts the extra-Earth life of Eve (played by Gong Hyo-jin), a boss working in a zero-gravity space station, and an uninvited dinosaur (played by Lee Min-ho) with a secret mission. It will first air at 9:20 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
