Netflix has confirmed the production of a new series ‘Donggung’ (tentative title).

‘​Donggung’​(tentative title) is a story about Goo-cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), who has the ability to travel between the world of ghosts (⻤), and Ginger (Noh Yoon-seo), a palace maid with a secret, who receive a summons from the king (Cho Seung-woo) and uncover the curse on the crown prince. Writers Kwon So-ra and Seo Jae-won, who have built a unique world of Korean occult through [Bulgasal], [The Guest], etc., and director Choi Jung-gyu, who has demonstrated outstanding directing skills across genres with [The Devil Judge], [The Red Moon Blue Sun], etc., have joined forces.

First, Nam Joo-hyuk transforms into ‘Goocheon’, a character who travels between the ‘world of ghosts’. Goocheon, who possesses the ability to kill ghosts with a sword, is a character who infiltrates the palace to solve strange incidents occurring in the royal family, and encounters an unimaginable world of darkness. Nam Joo-hyuk, who has broadened his acting spectrum by appearing in various genres such as ‘Vigilante’, ‘Twenty-Five, Twenty-One’, ‘Start-Up’, ‘The School Nurse Files’, ‘The Light in Your Eyes’, has chosen ‘Donggung’ (tentative title) as his first work after his military service, so expectations are high for his acting transformation.

Noh Yoon-seo plays ‘Ginger’, a court lady born with the ability to hear ghosts. Ginger uses her ability, which she believes to be a lifelong curse, to uncover the secrets of the palace with Goo-cheon. Noh Yoon-seo, who rose to prominence as a new star by making a mark in ‘Our Blues’, ‘A Daily Scandal’, received favorable reviews for her portrayal of sparkling moments of youth in the Netflix films ‘20th Century Girl’ and ‘Cheongsul’. With his excellent acting and unique aura, he has doubled the charm of his character, and attention is focused on how he will portray ‘Ginger’.
