Ji So Jung, the lead actress of KBS 2TV‘s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Suspicious Girl’, revealed the points of difference from the original.
Ji So Jung said at the production conference for ‘Suspicious Girl’ held at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 12th, “It is an honor for me as an actress to be playing the same role as senior Kim Hae Sook.”
She said, “I was really nervous and burdened. I wanted to do well so much. I had so many thoughts. How can I express it in a fun way? How can I express it affectionately? I went to the script reading without being able to organize my thoughts. But when she saw me acting, she smiled and said, ‘Just do it.’. She also said, ‘You can do it.’, which gave me confidence. She gave me her phone number to call if I needed anything. She also gave me a lot of tips while we had meals together. So I was grateful,” he said.
He continued, “I felt a lot of pressure about the original movie. I really like actress Shim Eun-kyung. I don’t think you can dare compare me to her. Rather than trying to differentiate myself, I tried to focus on our story and portray Oduri in our own style. Some people say it’s a ‘double-edged sword,’ but it’s not really a situation where I have to consider that when choosing a project. I’m really grateful just for the fact that I can work with other seniors,” he explained.
Meanwhile, ‘Miss Granny,’ which will premiere on the 18th, is a romantic musical growth drama about grandmother Oh Mal-soon (Kim Hae-sook) who suddenly transforms into a 20-year-old Oduri (Jung Ji-so) and once again enjoys her shining heyday. It is a remake of the 2014 movie of the same name starring Na Moon-hee and Shim Eun-kyung.
