A ‘luxury lineup’ will be featured in Channel A‘s new weekend drama ‘Check In Hanyang’, which will air for the first time on the 21st. Veterans of small screens with strong personalities such as Kim Min-jung, Han Jae-seok, and Kim Eui-sung will add their experience to the story of the ups and downs of the ‘Joseon’s flower youth’, led by rising stars such as Bae In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun, and will deliver the rich fun of a historical drama.
‘Check In Hanyang’ depicts the process in which Bae In-hyuk, Kim Ji-eun, Jung Gun-joo, and DKZ Jae-chan, who enter the ultra-luxurious Joseon inn Yongcheonru for different purposes, share love and friendship and grow.
Kim Min-jung, who returns to the small screen after three years, makes a special appearance as Seol Mae-hwa, the general manager of Yongcheonru, who leads the unruly ‘intern servants’. She plans to properly display the charisma of a leader who is respected by the employees and leads the organization. The character is reminiscent of her role as hotel president Kudo Hina in tvN‘s ‘Mr. Sunshine’, which was very popular in 2018, raising viewers’ expectations even more.

Han Jae-seok, Kim Eui-seong, and Yoon Je-moon lead the story of the youth‘s activities as well as the power struggle that unfolds at the same time. Han Jae-seok, who meets viewers for the first time in five years since ‘Joseon Survival’ in 2019, plays the father of Prince Bae In-hyeok, who infiltrated Yongcheonru while hiding his identity, and the king of Joseon. Through this, the plan is to express the king’s anger and sorrow at the threat to his royal authority.
Kim Eui-seong and Yoon Je-moon play the role of Taesang Bang-ju, the owner of Yongcheonru, who is aiming for the highest power in Joseon, and the Minister of War, the ‘Kingmaker’. The film depicts the fierce palace struggles of Kim Eui-seong, who confronts the king with his mad eyes, and Yoon Je-moon, a quiet rebel who wants to make his grandson the king.
The production team is determined to target a wide range of viewers through their weighty acting. Director Myung Hyun-woo explained at the production press conference held on the 17th, “Within the story frame of the four youths, we also include the political struggle for royal authority and the story of revenge,” and “We wanted to create a drama that both the younger generation and older viewers can relate to and enjoy. To this end, we cast veteran actors with thick recognition and solid acting skills.”
