Singer Choi Ye-na will be challenging herself with acting in the new sitcom ‘Villain‘s Country’.

According to broadcasters on the 18th, Choi Ye-na has been cast in ‘Villain’s Country’ and is currently filming. ‘Villain‘s Country’, which she stars in, is a sitcom that depicts the process of one sister, her family, and her neighbors living together in a world overflowing with villains.

Choi Ye-na will play the role of Gu Won-hee, a boarder staying at Oh Na-ra’s house, and will portray her daily life comically entangled with Oh Na-ra‘s family. Previously, Oh Na-ra and So Yoo-jin were cast as the ‘K sisters’ who each have their own families, and Park Young-gyu was cast as their father.

Choi Ye-na, who debuted as a member of the project girl group IZ*ONE in 2018, began her career as a solo singer in January 2022. His debut song ‘Smiley’, as well as the title song of his recently released third single, ‘NemoNemo’, became huge hits among the MZ generation, earning him the title ‘MZ Icon’. He is scheduled to have his first solo concert on January 25-26 next year.

He is also actively appearing in entertainment shows with his lively charm and unique personality. He built up a thick fandom by appearing as a regular member of the TVING series ‘Girls’ High School Mystery Class’ and ENA‘s ‘Hye Mi Ri Ye Chae Pa’. He previously appeared in the tvN D web drama ‘Girls’ World 2’ in January 2022, but this is his first official acting role in a terrestrial production, so viewers‘ expectations are high for the new charm he will showcase.

Meanwhile, ‘Villain’s Country’ is planned to be a total of 32 episodes. It is receiving attention both inside and outside of the home theater as it is predicted to be a work that will breathe new life into sitcom production, which has recently disappeared from the broadcasting industry.
