Bae In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun talked about their chemistry.
The new Channel A weekend drama ‘Check In Hanyang’ (written by Park Hyun-jin and directed by Myung Hyun-woo), which will be aired for the first time on the 21st, is a youth romance historical drama that contains the eventful growth of Joseon‘s flower youths who enter ‘Yongcheonru’, the largest inn in Joseon where anyone can become a king if they pay money.
‘Check In Hanyang’ will star Bae In-hyuk (as Muyeong-gun Lee Eun and Lee Eun-ho) and Kim Ji-eun (as Hong Deok-soo). The two actors will each play the roles of Joseon’s ‘flower youths’ who enter Yongcheonru while hiding their social status and gender, each with their own goals.
Above all, the different relationships between Lee Eun-ho and Hong Deok-soo, the tutors of Yongcheonru, and Lee Eun, the son of the king, Muyeong-gun, and woman Hong Jae-on are the points of interest. Attention is being paid to how the two actors will portray the relationship between Lee Eun-ho and Hong Deok-soo, who engage in a war of nerves as fellow tutors but gradually grow closer, and the subtle emotional changes between Lee Eun and Hong Jae-on, who are drawn to each other while hiding their true identities.
Bae In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun personally touched on the romance between the two characters. Kim Ji-eun said about the relationship between the two characters in the drama, “If Lee Eun-ho and Hong Deok-soo are in a relationship where they care about each other, then I think Lee Eun and Hong Jae-on are in a relationship where they are interested in each other,” foreshadowing their chemistry that will change depending on the flow of the story.
Bae In-hyuk emphasized that he tried hard to delicately portray the changing relationship between the two by saying, “Filming with actress Kim Ji-eun was really fun. We asked each other a lot of opinions, shared thoughts, and acted based on various sources.” This raises curiosity about how the romance between the two, completed by Bae In-hyuk and Kim Ji-eun sharing opinions, will be portrayed.
Kim Ji-eun also highly praised her chemistry with Bae In-hyuk, saying, “There were a lot of scenes where I would meow with actor Bae In-hyuk, so it was cute and fun to film.” He also said, “I tend to come up with a lot of ideas, and actor Bae In-hyeok, who is good at accepting ideas, worked together to create the scene,” foreshadowing perfect chemistry.
‘Check In Hanyang’ will premiere at 9:10 PM on Saturday the 21st as the follow-up to ‘Marry YOU’.
