The SBS entertainment program ‘Jungle Bob’, which has become a hot topic for having stars roam the jungle and spread Korean food culture, is returning with a second season.
According to a comprehensive report from Sports Donga on the 19th, ‘Jungle Bob’ season 2 has recently begun filming preparations with the goal of broadcasting next year. It has been reported that PDs Han Bi-in and Ryu Ji-hwan, who participated in season 1, are central to planning the new season.
Actor Ryu Soo-young will be at the center of season 2, following his previous work. He played the role of a Korean food evangelist in season 1, leveraging his excellent cooking skills, which are well-known in the broadcasting industry. Chef Choi Hyun-seok, who gained great popularity through the Netflix cooking survival program ‘Black and White Chef’, will be joining the cast. The main characters of the ‘Cooking variety show craze’ have come together, so expectations are high for what kind of ‘chemistry’ they will show.
The production team is currently looking for other cast members to work with them. As soon as the casting is finalized, they plan to leave overseas early next year for filming. Just like Season 1, this season will also focus on the stars exchanging food culture with locals in a remote jungle.
‘Jungle Food’, which aired from August 13 to October 8, featured actors Ryu Soo-young, Uee, Seo In-guk, Kim Kyung-nam, and comedian Lee Seung-yoon. The program received favorable reviews for showing them visiting Vanuatu and Palawan Islands to experience the wild food culture of the locals firsthand and spreading Korean food culture.
SBS‘s hit program ’Law of the Jungle‘ succeeded in garnering a respectable viewer rating of 4% by incorporating cooking material into the program and drawing the attention of viewers. Accordingly, the broadcasting company quickly began production of Season 2 and is ready to expand it into a seasonal program.
