‘The Phone Call You Just Got Made’ Yoo Yeon-seok forgave Chae Soo-bin.
In episode 7 of MBC‘s Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Phone Call You Just Got Made’ (planned by Kwon Sung-chang/ directed by Park Sang-woo, Wi Deuk-gyu/ written by Kim Ji-woon/ produced by Bon Factory, Baram Pictures), which aired on the 20th, Baek Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) and Hong Hee-joo (played by Chae Soo-bin) exploded with a passionate kiss as they desired each other. Episode 7 recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 6% and a metropolitan area of 5.1% (provided by Nielsen Korea, based on households), captivating viewers’ attention with its breathless development.
In yesterday‘s episode, Sa-eon found Hee-joo in distress and took her to the hospital. Sa-eon, who had been by Hee-joo’s side, reddened his eyes at her first words, asking him not to go. After that, Sa-eon judged that the kidnapper (played by Park Jae-yoon) was the one who threw Hee-joo off the cliff, and decided to make his wife feel the same pain. He began to investigate the kidnapper who hid behind Hee-joo and even staged the fall, making viewers‘ palms sweat.
Meanwhile, Hee-joo’s feelings for Sa-eon deepened due to the conversations they had on the phone the night she was stranded. Hee-joo recovered under Sa-eon‘s devoted care, but she was confused as to whether he had discovered that she was 406 due to his unusual behavior.
Sa-eon never pushed Hee-joo, who absolutely needed stability, and resumed communication with Hee-joo through a threatening phone call. He flirted with 406, saying, “Are you pretty? What are you wearing right now?” and Hee-joo, who did not realize Sa-eon’s intentions, expressed her jealousy. The sight of 406 Hee-joo wavering at Sa-eon‘s words made people laugh for a moment, but Sa-eon added tension to the drama by suggesting to Hee-joo that they should cooperate to catch the kidnapper together.
Meanwhile, Baek Eui-yong (played by Yoo Seong-ju), a strong presidential candidate and Sa-eon’s father, attempted to manipulate public opinion by using the company outing incident. When Eui-yong drove this incident into political terrorism, Sa-eon used the kidnapper‘s personal information to launch an all-out war. When Sa-eon confronted the detective in charge of the case (played by Lee Doo-seok) in the police interrogation room, he became convinced that the culprit who had blackmailed him was not alone but had an accomplice, increasing the tension in the drama.
Hee-joo, who was worried after seeing the negative comments about Sa-eon, fell into extreme anxiety when she received a call from the kidnapper saying that he would come and retrieve the blackmail phone. Sa-eon, who found Hee-joo terrified, comforted her by lying on the same bed as her in the hospital room, saying, “You just have to have good dreams.” Sa-eon’s pure love for only Hee-joo was heartbreaking.
At the end of the broadcast, Hee-joo, who was afraid of standing in front of Sa-eon as 406, promised to confess everything to Sa-eon. So Hee-joo went to Sa-eon with a threatening phone, but he only told her to come to the amusement park. The amusement park was a place that left trauma to Hee-joo when she lost her younger brother and Hong In-ah (played by Han Jae-yi) was seriously injured.
Hee-joo was walking around the amusement park while talking to Sa-eon. The two finally faced each other, and Sa-eon said, “Thank you for your hard work. 406,” and ended the call. As Hee-joo shed tears of guilt and regret, Sa-eon expressed his true feelings for Hee-joo and kissed her affectionately. The kiss between the two people who finally exploded their love line heated up the living room theater and raised expectations for the future of the ‘Saju Couple’.
MBC‘s Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Phone Call You Just Dialed’ Episode 8 will air today, the 21st (Sat) at 9:50 PM.
