KBS 2TV‘s ‘The Boss’s Ears Are Donkey Ears’ (directed by Ahn Sang-eun/hereafter ‘Sadanggwi’) is a program about voluntary empathy and self-reflection by South Korean bosses to create a workplace worth working in. In the previous episode, the highest viewership rating soared to 8.9%, continuing its 134th consecutive week of being #1 on all channels in the same time slot. (Based on Nielsen Korea)

On the December 22 (Sunday) episode of ‘Sadanggwi’, Lee Soon-sil visits master Kim Hyo-sook, who won the prestigious Presidential Award at the South Korean Kimchi Competition, to learn the best kimchi. However, the two have been fighting over the title of kimchi master since their first meeting, creating fierce fun.

The fight started when Kim Hyo-sook, who has been in the family business for four generations, bragged about the taste of Jeolla-do kimchi by saying, “Jeolla-do kimchi is famous. Pyongyang kimchi doesn’t taste good.” Eventually, Lee Soon-sil got angry and retorted, “My kimchi is the kimchi that Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un ate,” and the fight became more and more intense.

After that, Lee Soon-sil couldn’t close her mouth because of the master’s kimchi that contained all kinds of delicacies, from Mt. Mudeung watermelon that costs 1 million won to octopus, shrimp, and abalone. Finally, while Lee Soon-sil was making kimchi in her own style and getting into a fight with Kim Hyo-sook, she was faced with an unexpected situation where the mixer she was putting all the ingredients in went out of control, causing her to have a mental breakdown, raising curiosity about whether she will be able to learn how to make kimchi from a master without a hitch.

On the other hand, the master‘s cooking skills captivate Lee Soon-sil’s taste buds. Lee Soon-sil, who tasted the freshly made kimchi from a master, exclaimed, “This is a revolutionary taste,” raising curiosity about how the master‘s kimchi, which completely captivated Lee Soon-sil’s taste buds, was. Along with this, Lee Soon-sil said, “I make kimchi in a kimchi jar that can fit two people,” and revealed North Korea‘s kimchi culture that is comparable to combat due to its long winter compared to South Korea.

The meeting between Lee Soon-sil, who is proud of her kimchi and Kim Hyo-sook, who makes ‘North Korean kimchi’ and Kim Hyo-sook, who makes ‘Jeolla-do kimchi’ can be seen on ‘Sadanggwi’ to be aired on Sunday, December 22.

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s ‘The Boss‘s Ears Are Donkey Ears’ airs every Sunday at 4:40 PM.
