Episode 11 of tvN’s ‘I Really Wanted to Say This’ (abbreviated as ‘이말깽), which will air on the 23rd, will deal with an accident that occurred at a freshman welcome party and a story of support for survivors who have endured for the past 10 years.

According to the production team, a major collapse occurred on a snowy night in 2014 at a resort gymnasium in Gyeongju where the ceiling collapsed on top of students enjoying the freshman welcome party. Due to the heavy snow that fell that day, the roof was heavily covered with snow, and although the gymnasium was large enough to accommodate 500 people, it was poorly built overall, so it could not support the weight and the roof collapsed in just 13 seconds.

The mother of Jang Yeon-woo, one of the victims of the incident, recounts the moment she first heard about it on the news and says that she was so shocked that her hands were shaking and she couldn’t come to her senses on the way to the hospital. The daughter‘s condition, which we later encounter, was very serious. She miraculously survived, but she underwent dozens of major surgeries for serious injuries.

Above all, the daughter’s physical injuries and trauma after the accident for over 10 years, as well as the suffering of her surviving family members who have endured all of this together, are highlighted, adding to the heartbreak. Moon Jeong-hee says, “How much pain must the family have to endure?” and her eyes turn red. Survivor Jang Yeon-woo then says, “It‘s too much to simply say that it was an unfortunate accident, but the suffering they had to endure afterwards was so terrible,” and “I wish we could create a society where people can feel safe wherever they go.”

The story of the righteous people who helped Jang Yeon-woo on the day when this unthinkable incident occurred also follows. The main characters are the rescue team member who first found the daughter and stayed by her side until she was rescued, the doctor who rode in the ambulance with her at the scene of the incident and performed emergency surgery, and the doctors who were in charge of her treatment afterwards. They deliver heartfelt messages of support and encouragement to Jang Yeon-woo, who survived the incident but is still struggling in pain.

The broadcast will be on the 23rd at 10:10 p.m.
