The Japanese remake of the drama ‘I Know But’, produced by global creative studio SLL (SLL Central), ‘Wakatatteitemo The Shapes of Love’, is receiving positive responses from Japanese and global viewers immediately after its release.
‘Wakatatteitemo The Shapes of Love’ has proven the high interest of local fans by taking first place on the ABEMA Drama Rankings. Not only that, it also ranked first on Netflix Japan TOP 10 TV (December 9-15) as soon as it first appeared, and settled in 10th place on the Global TOP 10 TV (non-English category).
This remake adds a unique sensibility and charm with a Japanese background, and actor Ryusei Yokohama plays the lead role, and director Ryutaro Nakagawa‘s delicate directing has enhanced the level of perfection. The Japanese version, consisting of a total of 8 episodes, is expected to have new developments and unique Japanese sentiments in the remaining episodes, allowing viewers to discover a different charm from the original.
SLL focused on strengthening its partnership in the Japanese market this year and enhancing its global competitiveness. It has expanded its influence in the Japanese market by promoting joint production projects with TV Asahi, TBS Group content production company THE SEVEN, etc. In 2025, it plans to discover new projects and solidify the foundation for the continuous growth of K-content.
Park Jun-seo, head of the production division at SLL, said, “If we discovered new projects and released remakes this year to solidify our foundation in the Japanese content market, next year will be a year in which we attempt more diverse collaborations based on our strengthened cooperative network and the production capabilities of both Korea and Japan.”
