Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’ has released a still cut of Blackpink Jisoo.

‘Newtopia’ is a story about soldier Jaeyoon and bear spirit Yeongju running towards each other through downtown Seoul that has been attacked by zombies.

Jisoo plays the role of ‘Yeongju’, a bold bear spirit girlfriend who only runs towards her boyfriend even when the world is falling apart.

The released stills contain the happy college days of engineering goddess ‘Yeongju’, who always attracted everyone‘s attention wherever she was. In contrast, the scene where she is terrified and has tears welling up perfectly conveys the life-or-death horror of the sudden appearance of a horde of zombies. In both hands tightly holding the golf clubs, the confident appearance of ‘Yeong-ju’ is revealed as she runs towards her boyfriend through zombies that have covered downtown Seoul, raising curiosity about whether she will be able to reunite with ‘Jae-yoon (played by Park Jung-min)’.

Jisoo said, “I fell for ‘Yeong-ju’’s charm from the beginning, and I also wanted to bring the character to life well. I hope everyone can have fun watching ‘Yeong-ju’ grow in various ways,” expressing her passion for the role of ‘Yeong-ju.

Director Yoon Sung-hyun said, “Jisoo‘s eccentricity and humor were 99% in sync with the ’Yeongju‘ I saw in the script, and she expressed it better than I imagined,’” raising expectations for the confident and lovable ‘Yeongju’ that Jisoo will show.

‘Newtopia’ will be released for the first time on Coupang Play at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025.
