MBC canceled the ‘2024 Broadcast Entertainment Awards’ photo time event due to special news broadcast on a passenger plane accident.

MBC announced on the 29th, “Due to urgent news broadcast, the ‘2024 MBC Broadcast Entertainment Awards’ photo time event scheduled for 7 PM today (December 29th) has been canceled.”.

The ‘2024 Broadcast Entertainment Awards’ will proceed as scheduled, but MBC added, “We will re-announce if there is a change in the broadcast schedule.”.

At around 9:03 AM that day, a Jeju Air passenger plane derailed while landing at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. As of 1:00 PM, 85 people have been confirmed dead as a result of this accident.
