Kwak Tube, travel video uploads temporarily suspended… In memory of Jeju Air passenger plane disaster
Travel creator Kwak Tube (real name Kwak Jun-bin) announced the suspension of travel video uploads in memory of the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane crash.
On the 30th, Kwak Tube left a message of condolence through his YouTube channel community, saying, “It seems like a day where it’s hard to even say ‘hello.’ I feel deep sadness and regret at this unbelievable situation. No words are enough, but I offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.” He announced, “I will take a break from uploading travel videos that were scheduled,” adding, “May the deceased rest in peace.”
Meanwhile, at around 9:03 am on the 29th, a Jeju Air passenger plane attempted a bottom landing at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province after failing to lower its landing gear, skidding off the runway, crashing into a wall, and exploding. Of the 181 people on board the plane, including 179 South Koreans and 2 Thais, 2 were rescued and the remaining 179 died.
As of 2:30 pm on the 30th, 146 of the dead have been identified, and 33 are being identified through DNA analysis and fingerprinting. The identified victims will be transported to the funeral home in consultation with their bereaved families. The government designated a seven-day national mourning period from the day of the accident to January 4, 2025.
