Actor Ahn Se-ha, who had suspended his activities due to allegations of school violence, updated his status by posting a memorial message regarding the Jeju Air plane disaster.
On the 30th, Ahn Se-ha posted a photo of chrysanthemums with the message, ‘I pray for the soul of the deceased’ on his SNS account. His SNS activity attracted attention as it was his first in about 3 months since the previous allegations of school violence.
Last September, a post titled ‘Celebrity School Violence Me Too: I am accusing actor Ahn Se-ha of school violence’ was released on an online community. It contained content that Ahn Se-ha was a bully during his school days and that he would bully her.
Ahn Se-ha‘s agency, Hunus Entertainment, which is embroiled in allegations of academic violence, immediately denied it and took a strong stance, saying, “I will sue for defamation by spreading false information.”
Afterwards, Ahn Se-ha sent a handwritten letter saying, “The internet posts and their claims are all clearly false, and I have no intention of working as an actor again, to the point of apologizing for the false information due to distorted memories.” He also conveyed his feelings, saying, “I want to correct what is wrong and live as an upright father. I thought this was a fateful matter that I had to resolve, so I requested a police investigation, and I have honestly completed the investigation.”
Meanwhile, on the morning of the 29th, a Jeju Air passenger plane departing from Bangkok, Thailand crashed and exploded at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. The plane was carrying 181 people, including 179 South Korean nationals and 2 Thai nationals, and 179 people died, excluding the 2 who were rescued. The government designated this day as a period of national mourning until January 4, 2025, in relation to the Jeju Air accident.
