The current status of comedienne Kim Hyo-jin, who has become a pastor‘s wife, has been revealed.

In a video released on the YouTube channel ‘The Mission’ on the 30th of last month, Kim Hyo-jin said, “I knew that my husband’s dream as a child was to be a pastor. My husband dreamed of becoming a pastor and even studied abroad in the United States. He said that he made a vow when he was young to live as a pastor. He met me after he became an adult and changed his (life) path, but he still felt a little uneasy (about the vow).”

Kim Hyo-jin continued, saying, “We got married with a hopeful mind,” and “If my husband had said from the beginning that he dreamed of becoming a pastor, we wouldn‘t have gotten married. I know too well how difficult that path is and how important the role of a spouse is.”

She said, “I started to wander after my husband got married and our first child was born,” and “I was very sensitive and sharp because things didn’t go my way. It was the same as when I had a slump in broadcasting. I was depressed and close to alcohol. I relieved my stress and anger with alcohol. So it was really hard.”

She said, “I had no one to vent to, so at that time, I thought, ‘It’s going to be hard for me to carry this family to the end,‘” and revealed that she even considered divorce.

While praying after deciding to get a divorce, Kim Hyo-jin suddenly thought back on her marriage vows and shared how she overcame it.

She said, “I told God, ’I can‘t live with this man. I did nothing wrong. I have lived my life as an exemplary wife and mother, taking responsibility for the family’s finances, and doing my best, but my husband, who is lacking and incompetent, wanders around like this and makes me suffer, so I prayed and decided to break up, saying, “Even if he is a spouse that God has paired me with, I cannot live with him.” But then, unexpectedly, I heard a voice saying, “You promised me when you got married.” God suddenly reminded me of our wedding vows.”

After that, Kim Hyo-jin said she was able to restore her relationship by talking to her husband more and traveling together. Her husband, who eventually decided to become a pastor, quit drinking and regained his bright and gentle demeanor.

Kim Hyo-jin said, “I was very shocked when my husband decided to become a pastor, but I thought, ‘Oh, this is what was meant to happen.’”
