Crayon Pop‘s Choa (34, Heo Min-jin), who is currently battling cancer, shared her recent status to celebrate the new year.

On January 1, 2025, Choa posted a New Year’s greeting on her SNS and had a Q&A session with fans. She began by saying, “I spent the last day of 2024 and the first day of 2025 entirely with my family. Rather than regretting or blaming myself for the past time, I thought about the things I was thankful for. After writing them down, I realized there were so many things I was thankful for.”

She continued, “I have a lot to say to everyone I have met, but more than anything, I want to say thank you first. I love you.”

In the meantime, Choa said about things she wants to do in the new year, “In these heartbreaking situations, I feel once again that making eye contact with my family and the people around me more, listening to them, saying warm words, and hugging them tightly is more important than anything else. I promise that I will not forget these things this year and fill each day with a more grateful heart.”

Also, while communicating with fans through SNS stories, in response to a netizen‘s message saying, “I want to be a mother of a healthy baby. It’s so hard,” Choa expressed her hope by saying, “We will be mothers of healthy babies together, for sure!” Choa also wrote on her list of “Things I want to do in 2025” that she hopes for a successful pregnancy and childbirth.

Choa said that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she visited a hospital for a prenatal checkup in October of last year. At the time, she said, “I was diagnosed that it would be difficult to preserve my fertility, but miraculously, I was able to preserve it.” She also made a touching confession, saying, “I really want to meet a pretty child, be called a mother, and make a full recovery so that I can be a comfort and hope to those who have had similar experiences.”

Meanwhile, Choa debuted with Crayon Pop in 2012 and gained much popularity with “Bar Bar Bar.” After the team disbanded, she worked as a YouTuber and married a businessman six years her senior in December 2021.
