The year-end award ceremonies of the three major broadcasters that were canceled or postponed due to the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster will resume one after another.

Each broadcaster will release the drama award ceremonies that were recorded and broadcast after the national mourning period ends.

However, they decided to refrain from the excited atmosphere of the award ceremonies as much as possible, and the festival-style ‘Gayo Daejeon’ and ‘Entertainment Awards’ will be broadcast during the Lunar New Year holidays.

○MBC ‘Drama Awards’ Han Suk-kyu
MBC opened the door to resuming award ceremonies. On the ‘2024 Drama Awards’ broadcast on the afternoon of the 5th, Han Suk-kyu took home the grand prize for his role in the drama ‘So Intimate Traitor’.

Han Suk-kyu returned to his ‘home’ MBC after 29 years through this drama, and garnered attention for his delicate acting as a profiler who suspects his daughter. Chae Won-bin, who appeared as his daughter, won the Best New Actress Award.

Lee Ha-nui, who was mentioned as a strong candidate for the Grand Prize with Han Suk-kyu, won the Best Actress Award for ‘Flowers that Bloom at Night’, and Lee Je-hoon from ‘Chief of the Investigation Team’ and Yoo Yeon-seok from ‘The Phone Call You Just Got’ jointly won the Best Actor Award.

KBS also decided to air the ‘2024 KBS Drama Awards’, which was canceled on the 31st of last month, at 9:20 PM on the 11th.

Considering the period of national mourning, the ceremony was also recorded privately instead of being broadcast live.

The KBS Drama Awards are narrowing down to Lee Soon-jae from the sitcom ‘Bullshit’. There is no real competitor to Lee Soon-jae, as he has not achieved any notable results in the drama sector over the past year.

Unlike the Drama Awards, award ceremonies with a festive atmosphere such as the Entertainment Awards and Gayo Daejeon have been reorganized as Lunar New Year holiday special broadcasts.

The ‘2024 SBS Entertainment Awards’, which was canceled on the last day of last month, will be broadcast live on the 29th, the day of Lunar New Year. The award ceremony was canceled without any separate recording at the time.

The ‘2024 MBC Entertainment Awards’ has not yet confirmed whether it will be held, but it is known that discussions are underway regarding broadcasting it before and after the Lunar New Year holiday.

The ‘2024 Gayo Daejejeon’, which was the only one of the three major broadcasters that was not broadcast by MBC, also finished recording on the 31st of last month. It is said that the final recording and broadcast date will be decided after considering the social atmosphere.
