Im Ji-yeon and Chu Young-woo have decided to live as a married couple.
In episode 10 of JTBC‘s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Madam Ok’s Story’ (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyeok and Choi Bo-yoon), which aired on the 5th, the touching resolution of Ok Tae-young (played by Im Ji-yeon) and Cheon Seung-hwi (played by Chu Young-woo) as they each jumped into the best stage of their lives attracted attention. The viewership ratings broke their own record once again with 11.8% in the metropolitan area and 11.1% nationwide. The highest viewership rating per minute was 12.6%. The target 2049 viewership rating was 4.3% in the metropolitan area. (Nielsen Korea paid household standard)
Ok Tae-young, who was shocked by the fact that Cheon Seung-hwi had given up his entire life to become her husband Seong Yoon-gyeom (Choo Young-woo), was shocked to learn that this was also something her brothers-in-law Seong Do-gyeom (Kim Jae-won) and Dok2 (Oh Dae-hwan) had hatched together. When Seong Yoon-gyeom, whom she met in Cheong, never returned, they had joined forces to plot this to protect Ok Tae-young.
Ok Tae-young, who could not stand to watch her entire family collude and live a false life while hiding her identity, decided to pack up her life in Cheongsu-hyeon and leave with Cheon Seung-hwi. However, in the meantime, Ok Tae-young postponed leaving for a while when he heard the news that his sister-in-law Cha Mi-ryeong (played by Yeon Woo) was arrested by the government office on charges of harming his mother, Lady Song (played by Jeon Ik-ryeong).
Ok Tae-young, who started to move to find out the truth of the case, found out that Cha Mi-ryeong had made a false confession in order to take the blame for her mother‘s sins of sacrificing many people for revenge. Therefore, he thought that it was not Cha Mi-ryeong’s doing but that Lady Song had made an extreme choice herself, but he caught the circumstances that suggested that someone had harmed her and discovered that county magistrate Oh Dal-seong (played by Yang Joon-mo) and Ji Haeng-soo (played by Shin Seung-hwan) were involved.
Ok Tae-young, who figured out the truth of the case with a sharp eye, told the government office everything, clearing up the frustration of those who were reporting it one by one. Not only that, he did his best to ensure that Cha Mi-ryeong would not end up like Baek Do-gwang (Kim Sun-bin), who took the blame for her parents‘ sins in the past. As a result, Cha Mi-ryeong was acquitted and left a meaningful mark to prevent innocent people from being used by the Chaste Women’s Association in the future.
Ok Tae-young‘s actions inspired the townspeople. As the work was finished and Ok Tae-young was preparing to leave, he was led by Cheon Seung-hwi’s hand and encountered respect and cheers for himself everywhere from the office to the streets, and his heart that was about to leave Cheong Soo-hyeon began to waver.
To the confused Ok Tae-young, Cheon Seung-hwi consoled her that she was qualified because she had created a precious life for herself, and that she was also living as the main character by making this choice. With the words, “So let’s not get caught,” he vowed to no longer live as Seung-hwi Cheon but as Tae-young Ok’s husband, Sung-yoon Gyum, and Tae-young Ok finally shyly called Seung-hwi Cheon “sir.”
